Kaunas’ Akropolis shopping center went wild over the 2018 Christmas season with a festive lighting and decorative concept that celebrated a range of forest creatures with the help of MK Illumination Baltic. Frolicking animals greeted visitors at the center’s entrance, and inside, light sculptures of swooping owls and giant bears delighted old and young alike, whilst mischievous cubs ran up the center’s columns and played on 6-meter, custom-designed branches high above shoppers’ heads. Strings of lights hung throughout, and over 1km of MK Illumination’s “Drape Lites” completed the magical effect.
Two giant Christmas trees featuring a gold and white color scheme hid surprises in their branches, like tiny white owls, and smaller trees ensured that the festive cheer continued throughout the space.
A wintry Santa’s grotto was a great pull for families, and Santa’s illuminate chair was surrounded by arctic animals and animatronic wildlife in bright white, and trees filled with sparkling light points. The selfie-area was a 6-meter bear that featured extensively on social media and, we’re told, in family Christmas cards, too.
